ACOA Minister Ashfield views hydrogen-fuelled car in Vancouver

(From left to right) Shawn Cook of the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and Peter Lisicin of the Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation explain a hydrogen-fuelled car to ACOA Minister Keith Ashfield during a tour on Thursday in Vancouver, B.C. Hydrogen-fuelled cars are electric cars that get their power from hydrogen rather than the more traditional battery. In the area of hydrogen and fuel technology, the Vancouver-based National Research Council (NRC) Institute for Fuel Cell Innovation is dedicated to advancing industry commercialization through research, demonstration and validation programs. In Atlantic Canada, ACOA is contributing to the diversification of local economies through the development of key clusters such as renewable and clean energy, biotechnology, life sciences and aquaculture.
