2010 Farnborough International Airshow
The Farnborough International Air Show is a major trade event for the global aerospace industry. It is one of the world’s largest and most internationally-attended showcases for aerospace equipment and technology. In 2008, 300,000 visitors attended the Farnborough air show resulting in more than US $89 billion in orders — more than double the 2006 sales.
Aerospace and defence is an important industry in Atlantic Canada. The region is home to over 200 innovative aerospace and defence companies employing more than 10,000 skilled and specialized employees. The industry is one of the region’s fastest-growing sectors. Between 2001 and 2007, exports grew by 207%, generating over $1 billion in annual revenue.
At the 2010 Farnborough International Air Show, Atlantic Canadian companies and organizations had the opportunity to showcase their capabilities and explore potential contract opportunities with international aerospace and defence industry leaders.
The Farnborough mission provided participating companies and organizations with an excellent occasion to establish valuable international contacts and exchange market and technology information with international counterparts. Close to 1,400 exhibitors from over 40 countries displayed the latest aerospace and defence products and services.
The Farnborough International Air Show ran from July 19-25, 2010.
