This study provides a rationale for governments, in partnership with the private sector, to dedicate resources to the development of an Atlantic Gateway strategy.  After assessing opportunities in key market segments, including the international container trade, liquid bulk and other marine cargo, air passenger travel and cargo and the cruise trade, the report recommends that the most immediate opportunity in the Atlantic region is in growing the international container trade.  The report identifies the key drivers that are creating this opportunity and analyzes the strengths and challenges to be encountered.  The study then provides an integrated approach for growing this opportunity.
